Amalienbad

I have developed a habit of reviewing public swimming pools and their inclusive sauna in European cities that I paid a visit to. Amalienbad is the jewel reigning at the top of my list, overtaking the place of Piscine du Centre in Brussels designed in 1953. My rating metrics include architectural aesthetics, architectural functionality, water quality and temperatures, atmosphere for a serious swimmer, cleanness, service, other specialties. And Amalien is off the charts on all the criteria. The experience for me was, I paid 16.50 for sauna+ swimming, and it felt like a themed park to spend hours inside. The architect is well preserved. Sauna is clean, beautiful, and has many rooms. Relaxed and mesmerised by the reflection of light on coloured tiles on the roof, seeing the watch hung midair by a thin thread, I couldn’t separate sky and water. The facilities functions perfectly, and is well maintained frequently by staff. When I visited on Sunday afternoon there were only two separate lanes, and the free swimming area took half of the area, but for serious swimmer, swimming together with competing teenagers might just be as inspiring as with adult professionals in my opinion. What a fantastical recreation venue for the neighbourhood. A nice place for a common neighbourhood - it was the original motto of the designer.

I payed 6 euro entrance fee for free swimming about 19.30, to then find out that the lanes dedicated to fast/sport swimming were just taken for a diving course. No where was stated that a course was taking place and also taking away the only 2 fast lanes, nor a mention from the receptionist. To swim in the free area is basically impossible as it is very crowded and no one follows a straight direction. Really poor management. Pity cause the pool it self it's really beautiful, but wrong management and wrong employee ruin it all, what a shame.

No pudimos entrar a la piscina solo para verla. Debes nadar. No se permiten fotos.

Не про бассейн. Отзыв о центре терапии на 4 этаже. Это просто ужас ужасный!! Никому не советую туда попасть. Мало того, что не дали прописанные врачом процедуры, так ещё и каждый поход на терапию, как кошмар. Первое, что вызывает подозрение, это то, что запись на процедуру нужно выпрашивать по телефону и звонить постоянно, каждый день. Вдруг повезет? Второе, на ресепшене работают не совсем компетентные люди. Третье, эрготерапия - только название и больше ничего. Первую процедуру проводил вообще некомпетентный человек, не знал, какие упражнения дать, всё бормотал под нос. Вообще недовольна этим местом. Запутали меня в записях, то записали, это отменили, там перенесли. В итоге - пропустила одну процедуру, так как запуталась. Единственный человек нормальный там - это эрготерапевт девушка. Очень приятная, много объяснила и показала. Ею я довольна на 100 из 100. Ей спасибо большое за терапию.

Das Gebäude selbst ist ein architektonisches Wunder. Der große Pool ist sehr ansprechend, die Sauberkeit entspricht jedoch nicht den Erwartungen. Die Fliesen an den Enden des Beckens sind schmutzig und weisen einen schwarzen Schmutzstreifen auf, den niemand sieht. Ist es wirklich so schwer alles zu reinigen?
